the dominant idea at the moment seems to be something like ‘if you slow down a sound enough it becomes this beautiful, ethereal thing,’ like a symphony of crickets or some ambient wash made from a donkey kong soundtrack… but I prefer something more harsh, more like the sound is falling apart, or when you spread it out it reveals the… shackles… at the base of the sound. I like that idea, it shows that rather than being some mystical thing, it reveals the way sound is created- either through technology or through a filter of culture
